Canoeing
The Tri-Rivers area has the best quiet-water canoeing around. The Wolf River is slow and winds through heavily wooded terrain. There are numerous parks and boat landings throughout the route from Shawano to New London. The Embarrass River is also very scenic and largely undeveloped. While it is not as wide as the Wolf, its current is slower. However, access to the Embarrass is from bridge crossings only.
The quiet rivers are perfect
for all levels of canoeing experience. Trips can be from 1
hour to 2 days.
The
Wolf and Embarrass Rivers are
serene and tree-lined. Herons,
ducks and eagles are seen frequently.
