bulletOutagamie County Revolving Loan Fund - This is a source of "gap" funding for commercial and industrial development projects.  The project must leverage private funding sources and result in the creation of new jobs in the County.
bulletTechnology Zone Tax Credits - This program was designed to provide tax credits to companies that engage in business expansion projects that utilize new technologies.  It is also aimed at businesses that are engaged in research, development and production of advanced products.

bulletCAP Services - Their mission is to bring about a permanent increase in the ability of low-income individuals to become  economically and emotionally self-sufficient.  In order to meet their mission, they offer a number of programs with the goal of creating living wage jobs, such as the following.  The contact for Outagamie County is Kitty Johnson and she can be reached at (920) 209-1384.
bulletLease/Purchase Program - CAP builds or buys and renovates a facility to a business' specifications then leases it to the business at its cost with an option to purchase.  In return, the business commits to hiring low-income persons.
bulletJobs and Business Development Program - A program available to individuals whose household income is 200% of the Federal poverty level or to businesses that create jobs for low-income persons.  Check out their Virtual Business Incubator at www.vbi.biz or chat with small business experts at www.capbizchat.com.
bulletSkills Enhancement Program - Assists individuals obtain training to compete for better paying jobs.
bulletGlacierland Resource Conservation & Development - works to improve the local economy by the wise development and use of local resources.  This may include developing and addressing concerns of local agriculture and related businesses, assisting industries and tourism, encouraging alternative energy source development, and assisting in marketing local products.
bullet Wisconsin Department of Commerce - The Department of Commerce has technical and financial resources available to businesses and communities.  Some of the programs include:  Business Development Assistance Center, Brownfields Initiative Technical Assistance Program, Manufacturing Assessment Center, Small Business Ombudsman, Main Street Program, and many others.  Commerce can be reached by calling 1-800-HELP BUSiness.  Assistance can also be obtained by contacting the Area Development Manager.  For Outagamie County, that person is Dennis Russell (920) 498-6302.
bulletThe Venture Center - The Center provides planning, organization, and skills assessment; commercialization. access to market, and prototype services; entrepreneur education and training; and, provides information about services and financing options.  Contact Amy Pietsch for additional information at (920) 424-2363 (Oshkosh) or (920) 735-2525 (Appleton).
bulletHighway 41 Corridor International Development Program - This is a no fee service available to small and medium businesses interested in getting into world trade.  There are three areas of assistance available; international market research, commercial assistance services and networking opportunities.  For more information on how your business can successfully engage in exporting, contact Fred Montique at (920) 734-7101 (Appleton) or (920) 496-2118 (Green Bay).
bulletWisconsin Small Business  Development Center (WSBDC) - The WSBDC provides education to the state's entrepreneurs through an array of low-cost classes and no-cost confidential counseling.  Receive over-the-phone answers to business start-up and management questions by calling 1-800-940-7232.  Local offices are available on the UW-Green Bay campus (920) 496-9010 and the UW-Oshkosh campus (920) 424-1453 or 1-800-232-8939.
bulletSCORE - The Service Corps of Retired Executives provides mentoring, business plan assistance, marketing ideas, financial resources and contacts for business advisors.  They can be reached at their office within the Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce and Industry at (920) 734-7101.
bulletWisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA) - WHEDA is an independent authority created by the State Legislature in 1972 to assist low and moderate income people in acquiring affordable housing.  In 1983, their authority was enhanced to include providing funding for small businesses.   WHEDA is a lender.  Small business loans are available for expansion or acquisition.  For more information, contact this area's Community Development Officer, Gail Beyer at 1-800-334-6873.
bulletWisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD) - The DWD replaces the former Department of Industry, Labor & Human Relations.  Its focus is to provide a single employment and training system for the State of Wisconsin.  DWD includes job centers.  Outagamie County businesses and residents can receive assistance at the Fox Cities Workforce Development Center located at 1802 Appleton Road, Menasha, WI 54952 or by calling (920) 997-3272.   Members of the Oneida Nation can receive aid at the Oneida Tribal Job Center located at 2640 West Point Road, Green Bay, WI 54313 or by calling (920) 490-6800.
bullet Wisconsin Technology Council - The Technology Council was created by the Legislature to create a master plan for the development of science and technology based businesses in Wisconsin.  This organization also supports the Wisconsin Innovation Network (WIN), which is dedicated to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship.  They can be reached at (608) 442-7557.
bulletWisconsin Entrepreneurs' Network - This network of Outreach Centers and other entrepreneurial support organizations is organized to serve the needs of nascent, start-up and established small firms in the state.
